All information that you provide to us will be treated in the strictest confidence. The only exceptions to that rule are set out below:
- where the clinician has the express consent to disclose the information or data to a third party.
- Where the clinician would be liable to civil or criminal court proceedings if the information was not disclosed. In such circumstances consent to disclose the information will be obtained if at all possible.
- where the clinician has sufficient concern to determine that the patient is at risk – either from their own actions or from the actions of others.
- Where others may be at risk.
